Counseling & Psychotherapy

Similarities Psychotherapy just like counseling, requires a strong working relationship between therapist and client that is developed by insurances of confidentiality, genuineness, and trustworthiness. Both counseling and psychotherapy work on identifying and working through presenting issues by working collaboratively to establish and achieve goals.

During counseling and psychotherapy, you learn about your presenting issues as it relates to your thoughts, feelings, moods, and behaviors. Both can help you learn how to take control of your life and respond to challenging situations with healthy coping skills. Consequently, this can improve the overall quality of your mental health and life.

Differences Counseling focuses on presenting issues that can be improved or resolved through short-term work which could be achieved over a number of weeks or months. Counseling focuses on issues that have come up and are affecting us in the present. Psychotherapy also focuses on issues affecting us in the present but requires long-term work which could be achieved through weekly sessions over several months or years. Psychotherapy is longer-term because it often requires working through and understanding how past experiences are contributing to the present issue.

Online, in-person, “text” support?

Online Counseling & Psychotherapy With our "on the go" lifestyles and busy schedules time is valuable. We want support when and where we need it. Online counseling & psychotherapy is beneficial for individuals with limited time. Working with a therapist online allows you the flexibility you need.

In-Person Counseling & Psychotherapy In-person counseling and psychotherapy is good for individuals who have more time, availability, and flexibility.

“Text” Support Texting is a great way to get started for individuals who may prefer "text support." Texting is great for the on the go professional with a conservative budget and teenagers who prefer to communicate via text message.

which membership or plan is right for me?

If your presenting concern is not having a significant impact on your ability to function in your respective environments (e.g., work, family) then a “Pay As You Go” or weekly subscription plan might be right for you. Remember, you can cancel a subscription plan at any time.

how will we work together?

Once you have chosen your plan and we have reviewed your information, we will match you with a professional counselor.

We match each of our clients with our professional therapists based on their needs and then times of availability.

Once you are matched, your counselor will work with you to collaboratively set goals and a plan of action.

As you and your counselor work to achieve your goals, they will be there along the way to provide support, guidance, interventions, and coping strategies as needed.

We will continue to work with you until you reach your goals.
